Karen's Travel Guide

Austalia, New Zealand and The Pacific Islands

Perhaps it is the fact that at one moment you can be diving in the beautiful barrier reef and the next climb The Tasman Glacier. The unique aspects of this area of the world seem truly breathtaking and unique!

The Great Barrier Reef and The Coral Sea, Queensland Australia

The Great Barrier Reef is the largest marine preserve in the world. It is home to many sea creatures, including 500 species of brilliantly colored hard and soft coral, 1,500 varieties of fish, and 4,000 kinds of mollusks.

Cable Beach, Broome Western Australia

Australians have claimed Cable Beach to be the continent's most beautiful. It was first known for producing South Sea pearls, from the world's biggest pearl oysters, but is today known for its epic 14 mile beach, almost half a mile wide.

Mount Cook National Park and The Tasman Glacier, New Zealand

Most of New Zealand's National Parks includes snow and ice, however, Mount Cook stands above all others. The park is popular for skiing, tramping, hunting, and mountaineering. One of the main reasons I would travel New Zealand is to have the opportunity to visit its beautiful coastline settings while also being able to ski like its winter.

The Marquesas Island, French Polynesia

The Marquesas Island is one of the most remote and scenic places in all French Polynesia. Of the six Islands, Fatu Hiva is said to be the most beautiful due in large part to the beautiful bay of virgins. Paul Gauguin intended to live out his days here but instead disembarked on the neighboring Island of Hiva Oa.
