Karen's Travel Guide

NORTHERN, EASTERN, AND SOUTHERN AFRICA

In this particular area of the world, I am extremely interested in ancient ruins and mysterious desert lands. Masai Mara Kenya is one of Africa's most visited location for natural safari life. I would love to someday visit a Safari like this and maybe see some wild animals in their natural habitat.

The Great Pyramids of Giza, Egypt

The Pyramids at Giza embody antiquity and mystery. The funerary Great Pyramid of Cheops is the oldest at Giza and the largest in the world, with some 2.3 million limestone blocks, weighing an average 2.75 tons each, and moves by a force of 100,000 slaves.

The Sinai, Nuweiba Egypt

Those traveling down the coast of the Red Sea should consider stopping off-road into the Sinai desert wilderness with a Bedouin guide. This mystical place is where God is said to have delivered the Ten Commandments to Moses. The Sinai also includes the Colored Canyon, where the rock strata contain an outstanding spectrum of colors that change with the light.

The Great Sahara, Morocco

The Great Sahara is the worlds largest hot desert. It covers most of Northern Africa, making it almost as large as The United States, or the continent of Europe. The Sahara has a long history with dates back to around three million years.

Little Governor's Camp, Masai Mara Kenya

This Safari is known as the "doyen" of all safari camps, and the first opened in Masai Mara in 1972. It remains a favorite old-fashioned canvas-tent safari camps, built around a small lake. Somethings you might find at the camp are wandering giraffes or a wake up call by some hippopotamus.
